My professional work is finding creative and practical solutions to tough problems, getting people with different perspectives to work together in a positive environment, and turning those solutions into policy that creates lasting improvement. This approach creates a greater sense of community pride and belonging. That’s the skill and commitment I will bring to the job as Mayor of Simi Valley.
I am a mother, an advocate, and a Simi Valley resident since 1994, and have a family history of military and public service. Simi Valley has many great things, but we need more in these changing times. We have difficulty retaining our youth as expensive housing pushes them away from their friends and family. We need to fix our roads and other infrastructure. We need to encourage business ventures that will revitalize our community and provide more recreational activities, especially by cutting an embarrassing retail vacancy rate that is almost twice that of surrounding cities. We can do that with practical steps, like a creating an intervention team to help struggling businesses, and by attracting visitors and sales tax dollars by showing that we’re a more welcoming community.
As Mayor, I will bridge the gap by representing everyone no matter their color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, age, or political affiliation.
